Human Connections

February 2014 - Present

Human Connections is a small non-profit start up that is doing great things in Bucerias, Mexico. I provide general guidance to the organization where needed and am able to provide added support with managing the website and financials, given my background.

Co-Founder, Board Member, Advisor

January 2008 - February 2015

Kurt worked with Ashwin Kaja to build the organization in 2008. Investours is an international 501c3 organization which combines the power of microfinance and tourism in the form of ‘microfinance tours’.

In 2011, Kurt was able to take a six month sabbatical from Deloitte to focus full time on Investours. He helped run operations on the ground in Mexico and managed five remote resources during that time.

Investours has had over 550 people on tours and has distributed over 175 micro-loans, enabling some of Mexico and Tanzania’s poorest citizens to access funding for their small businesses.

Investours Mexico ultimately evolved into Human Connections where I now focus my energy. That said, I will still occasionally assist Investours on some technical requests.
